Double Band Ring — Two Rails, One Ring

This reads as two rings and is only ever one. The lower rail is a flat band worked into a plaited chevron weave, the kind of over-under braid you would find in a leather strap, with the recesses darkened so every crossing stands out. Above it, held a clear gap away by a small block at each end, runs a plain round wire polished bright. The contrast is the whole idea: one rail busy and matte-dark, the other silent and shining. 1. Is the dark colour in the weave going to wear off?
It is oxidisation — a deliberate darkening of the silver in the recesses, not a coating — and it sits below the raised surfaces where fingers do not reach, so it lasts well. It will lighten slowly over years of wear, which most people find improves it. What will strip it in one go is a silver dip, so please do not use one on this ring (see FAQ 5).

2. Is it one ring or two?
One. The two rails are joined by a solid block at each end, so they move together and adjust together. You get the look of a double stack without the two rings drifting apart or rotating out of line during the day.

3. Does it need a UK hallmark?

4. How do I find my size, and how does an adjustable band work?
This one runs small — roughly UK J to L, so it suits a smaller finger or works as a pinky ring. The band is open at the back and flexes across that range rather than locking to one size; ease it a little at a time, holding it near the opening rather than over the weave. 5. How do I clean it without losing the dark recesses?
A soft dry cloth on the raised surfaces and the upper rail only, and nothing at all in the grooves. Never use a silver dip or an ultrasonic cleaner on an oxidised piece — a dip removes the darkening in seconds and it cannot be put back at home.
