925 Sterling Silver Butterfly Ring - 12 Zirconia - Adjustable M-O
Butterfly Ring – Pavé Wings on a Scalloped 925 Sterling Silver Band
A butterfly sits open-winged at the front of this ring, 8.2mm across and 5.6mm tall, with twelve clear zirconia set six to a wing so both sides catch light evenly. The band behind it is not plain: it is worked into overlapping scalloped sections that run away from the butterfly like a row of petals laid over each other. The ring weighs 1.03g in 925 sterling silver, stamped S925 inside the band.
The band is open at the back and flexes across roughly UK M to O. Sterling is the harder of our two silvers, which matters on a ring carrying set stones – it holds the settings steadier than fine silver would. On why we use zirconia and say so plainly, see Not All Sparkle Is Diamond.

The butterfly is jewellery’s clearest symbol of transformation, because it is the one creature everyone knows became something else entirely. Greek used the same word, psyche, for butterfly and for soul. In Chinese tradition a pair stands for lasting love, and a single one for a life that has changed shape. A gift for her at a turning point rather than a beginning. More motif meanings at JewelMotif™ · Watch & read: How Jewellery Materials Shape Emotion
This ring is stamped S925. 925 (also written S925 or Ag925) is sterling silver: 92.5% pure silver with 7.5% copper added for hardness, which is why it holds a ring shape without bending and why we use it for stone-set pieces. 足银 999 is fine silver at 99.9% pure – brighter, softer and warmer in tone. Both are real silver; the difference is durability, not authenticity. We explain the marks in full in our 925 vs S925 guide, and day-to-day care lives on the Silver Care Card.
FAQs
1. Are the twelve stones diamonds?
No. They are clear zirconia, six set into each wing – a bright, hard, man-made stone. We say so openly, and explain why in Not All Sparkle Is Diamond.
2. Why sterling rather than 999 fine silver?
Sterling is harder. On a ring with twelve set stones that matters, because the settings need a metal that resists flexing. Fine silver suits plain and floral bands better. The comparison is in our 925 vs S925 guide.
3. Does it need a UK hallmark?
No. UK law requires hallmarking on silver articles of 7.78g and above; this ring is 1.03g, so it is exempt. The S925 stamp inside records the metal content.
4. How do I keep the wings sparkling?
Hand cream and soap film settle between pavé stones and dull them quickly. Take the ring off before applying lotion, and lift dust out with a soft dry brush – see JewelCare™ and the Silver Care Card.
How to Style the Butterfly Ring
The scalloped band means this ring already carries texture as well as sparkle, so wear it as the lead piece and keep anything beside it plain. It reads well on the index finger where the butterfly stays visible. Browse the 925 Sterling Silver collection, the full Rings range, or JewelBuild™.

Caring for Your 925 Sterling Silver Piece
