Classic Fox Charm - The Tail Is the Whole Design
A fox curled downward in gold-tone stainless steel, with a rounded satin-finished face at the top - pricked ears, a fine engraved muzzle - and a huge brush of a tail sweeping down and out beneath it. The tail is pierced with a run of elongated oval cut-outs that get smaller toward the tip, so light passes right through it and the charm reads as line rather than mass. It measures 13.7mm wide by 23.5mm tall and 2.5mm deep at 1.73g.
The two finishes are what make it look more expensive than it is. The face is left matte, the tail is high polished, and the contrast between them separates head from body at a size where a single finish would blur into one gold shape. It is pierced right through rather than stamped on one side, so the openwork is genuine from both faces and the fox reads whichever way it turns.

There are no stones here to work loose, but the matte face and the polished tail want different handling: a soft dry cloth suits both, while polishing pastes will slowly buff the matte area to a shine and lose the contrast that makes the piece. 1. Is the openwork fragile?
No. It is cast as one piece in stainless steel rather than pierced from thin sheet, so the tail is structurally continuous - and steel is much harder than the silver or brass usually used for openwork at this price.
2. Can the back be engraved?
No - it is modelled on both sides and cut through, so there is no plain panel. Our flat-backed charms are the ones for a name or a date.
3. Why is the face matte and the tail shiny?
Deliberately. At 23mm a single finish would let the head disappear into the body; the change in texture does the job that engraved detail would be too small to do.
4. Is it magnetic?

5. How does it attach?
