Classic Cute Cat Charm - Four Legs, Tail Up, Entirely Pleased
Where our standing cat is elegant, this one is comic. A short round-bodied kitten on four stubby legs, cast in gold-tone stainless steel, with a broad face, engraved eyes and whiskers, and a tail held straight up in the air - the posture a cat adopts when it is pleased with itself and wants you to know. It is 11.8mm wide by 15mm tall and 2.6mm deep.
At 1.08g it is one of the two lightest charms we stock, which is the practical reason to reach for it: a busy bracelet can take this one without noticing the difference. Both sides are modelled, so it stands up as a cat whichever way it lands. No stones, no enamel - just polished metal and the shallow engraving that gives it its face.

No stones and no enamel means nothing here can work loose. The gold tone is ion-plated onto stainless steel, far harder-wearing than the flash plating used on costume charms - keep it away from perfume, chlorine and abrasive cloths and it holds its colour. 1. How is this different from the Standing Cat charm?
Tone, mostly. The Standing Cat is tall, sleek and Deco - an elegant silhouette. This one is short, round and cartoonish, and about half the height. Buy the first for poise and this for personality.
2. Can the back be engraved?
No - it is sculpted on both sides, so there is no plain panel. Our flat-backed charms are the ones for a name or a date.
3. Is it magnetic?
No - this one tests completely non-magnetic. Some steel charms respond slightly and some do not; both are normal, because cast stainless steel varies in ferrite content. Full explanation in Is Magnetic Steel Jewellery Fake?.
4. Is it too small to see on a bracelet?
No - it is short but wide, and the shape is simple enough to read at a glance. It is the depth of detail that shrinks badly at charm scale, and this design deliberately has very little.
5. How does it attach?
It comes on a jump ring, which sits over a chain link or a charm carrier. If you would rather clip it on and off by hand, we can add a small lobster clasp - just ask when you order.
