Classic Dachshund Charm - The Long Dog, the Size of a Fingernail
A dachshund in profile, cast in gold-tone stainless steel - the low body, the long back, the short legs and the soft flop of the ear all caught in one clean sculpted line. It is modelled in the round rather than cut from flat sheet, so the flank curves, the chest sits proud and the shadow along the underside gives it a depth a silhouette charm never has.
At 16mm long, 9.8mm tall and 3mm deep it is a genuinely small charm, and at 1.32g it is the lightest dog we stock - the one to reach for when a bracelet is already carrying three or four heavier pieces. There are no stones and no enamel, and that restraint is the point: the breed is recognisable from across a room without needing decoration. Both sides are sculpted, so it lies along the wrist and still reads as a dachshund whichever way it turns.

Bred in Germany to go down a badger hole alone, the dachshund is the smallest dog with the largest opinion of itself - which is why it reads as courage rather than cuteness. 1. Is it flat or three-dimensional?
Three-dimensional. It is 3mm deep with a curved flank and a raised chest, so it catches light from the side as well as the front - not a flat cut-out.
2. Can the back be engraved?
No - it is sculpted on both sides, so there is no blank panel. If you want a name engraved, choose one of our flat-backed charms instead.
3. Will the gold colour wear off?
The tone is ion-plated onto stainless steel, which is far more durable than the thin flash plating used on costume jewellery. Perfume, chlorine and abrasive polishes are the three things that shorten its life.
4. Is it magnetic?

5. Will it match my silver bracelet?
