18K Gold Sapphire Ruby Emerald Citrine Ring, UK Size P
Four Colours, One Band: 18K Gold with Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald and Citrine
Some rings ask you to choose one stone. This one refuses. Set in a row across a wide, softly tapered band of 18K solid gold are four oval gems - a cool blue sapphire, a warm pinkish-red ruby, a garden-green emerald and a honey-golden citrine - each held in four slim yellow-gold claws that lift it clear of the shank so daylight can pass right through. Between every pair sits a narrow column of small brilliant-cut diamonds, bead-set in white gold, working like a bright comma between colours so no two gems compete.
Turn it over and the workmanship shows. The gallery is pierced open beneath every stone, which is what keeps the emerald green rather than grey and lets the citrine and the sapphire glow rather than sit flat. The shank widens where it meets the setting, so the ring sits flat and balanced on the finger instead of rolling, and the polished flanks carry the 750 hallmark. At 5.58 grams it has real presence in the hand without ever feeling heavy on the finger - the weight of a piece made to be worn, not stored.

Why four stones and not one
A single-stone ring says one thing. A four-stone band says four, and it lets you wear a birthstone, an anniversary colour and a family memory on the same finger. Blue sapphire is September, ruby is July, emerald is May and citrine is November - four months on one hand. If the stones happen to line up with the people you love, the ring stops being jewellery and starts being a record. More on stone meanings at JewelMotif and JewelWhy.
FAQs
Are the stones natural?
Yes - natural sapphire, ruby, emerald and citrine, each cut as a 5 x 4 mm oval and matched for depth of colour rather than for a certificate. You can see the tiny internal features that come with natural growth when you look closely, which is exactly what you want.
Have they been treated?
Almost certainly, and that is completely normal in the trade. Sapphire and ruby are routinely heated to settle their colour, emerald is traditionally oiled to soften the appearance of surface-reaching inclusions, and most citrine on the market is amethyst that has been heated to gold. None of that is a flaw - all three have been standard practice for centuries. It only matters for care: keep the emerald away from ultrasonic cleaners and steam.
What size is it and can it be resized?
It is a UK P, which is US 7.75 and EU 56, with an internal diameter of 17.8 mm. A wide band with stones set across the top has limited room to move, so a jeweller can usually adjust it by half a size in either direction. Measure a ring you already wear across its inside edge and compare with 17.8 mm before ordering.
Is 18K gold too soft for everyday wear?
No. 18K is 75 per cent pure gold alloyed for strength, and it is the standard for fine jewellery across Europe precisely because it balances richness of colour against durability. This band is solid rather than plated, so it will not wear through to a base metal.
How do I clean it without damaging the emerald?
Warm water, a drop of washing-up liquid and a soft toothbrush around the claws, then pat dry. Skip ultrasonic tanks, steamers and any solvent-based cleaner. The full routine is in JewelCare.
Does it come gift-wrapped?
Every JewelHub order arrives boxed and ready to give, with a free surprise included as standard - that is JewelGift, and it applies to every order, every time.
How to Style It
Because it carries four colours already, this ring is happiest as the only statement on the hand. Wear it alone on the index or ring finger and keep everything else quiet - a plain gold band on the other hand, small studs, nothing that adds a fifth colour. Against a navy or forest-green sleeve the sapphire and emerald come forward; against cream or camel the citrine and the gold itself take the lead.
If you do want to stack, use it as an anchor and pair it with one narrow polished yellow-gold band sitting below it - never above, where it would crowd the claws. For necklaces, pick a single warm-gold chain rather than a stone pendant, so the ring keeps the colour story to itself. Caring for Your Fine Gold Piece
14k and 18k gold is a precious metal investment. With proper care it holds its colour and quality indefinitely — fine gold does not tarnish, but it can scratch and dull without attention.
| Daily wear | Remove during heavy physical activity, cleaning, and gardening |
| Cleaning | Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap, soft brush — rinse and dry with a lint-free cloth |
| Storage | Store separately — gold scratches easily when touching other metals |
| Professional care | Annual professional polish recommended for fine pieces |
| Avoid | Chlorine, bleach, harsh chemicals, and ultrasonic cleaners for pieces with stones |
