Jade and Diamond Halo Studs - Oval Cabochons in 18k Gold

An oval cabochon of natural jade on each ear, roughly 7 x 9.5mm, held in four yellow gold claws and ringed by a full halo of round diamonds set in white gold. Seventeen diamonds to a side, thirty-four across the pair, 0.72 carat in total. The jade is a strong, saturated green with lighter and darker zones visible through the dome. The halo cluster is one of the oldest arrangements in jewellery and it survives because of what it does optically rather than decoratively.
