18K Gold Jade & Diamond Drop Earrings - 16 Diamonds 0.14ct
Jade and Diamond Drop Earrings - Deep Green in 18k Gold
Two jade sections to each earring, cut to shapes rather than domes. At the top, a triangle of deep green jade measuring 8.6 x 3.5mm sits inside a frame of gold scrollwork, with a small diamond above it and another below. Hanging from that, a fan of openwork gold carries a lattice of diamonds in white gold collets, and a half-moon of jade 11.7 x 5.5mm closes the base. Eight diamonds to a side, sixteen across the pair, 0.14 carat in total, in 18k solid gold. The pair weighs 4.95 grams.
Flat-cut jade like this is a different discipline from cabochon work. A dome hides a lot; a flat plane with a straight bezelled edge shows every variation in the material and leaves nowhere for a flaw to sit unnoticed, which is why the technique tends to be used on stone the cutter trusts. The colour here is the deepest in our jade group - a saturated forest green with darker mineral movement visible across the half-moon. The diamonds are deliberately small: they draw the eye through the piece rather than competing with the stone.

A flat, bezel-set jade panel is one of the easiest forms to read. Look across the surface at an angle: natural stone shows drifts of tone and fine mineral texture that shift as you move it, and takes a soft, faintly waxy polish. Dye tends to betray itself at the bezel line, where colour concentrates where the stone meets metal. Treated material polishes to a harder, glassier shine than jade naturally gives. FAQs
1. How many pieces of jade are there?
Four in total - a triangle and a half-moon on each earring, both flat-cut and bezel-set rather than domed.
2. How many diamonds are there, and how big?
Eight on each earring, sixteen across the pair, coming to 0.14 carat in total - so each stone is under a millimetre and a half. They are small by design: there to lead the eye down the drop, not to be counted from across a room.
3. Is this 18k rather than 14k?
Yes - 18k, stamped 750. That is 75 percent pure gold against 58.5 percent for 14k, which is why the yellow reads warmer and deeper here than on our 14k pieces. Our gold hallmark guide explains the numbers.
4. How long is the drop?
Two linked sections, so it moves as one piece and then swings from the joint. Long enough to read as a drop, short enough to sit above a collar.
5. How do I clean jade and diamonds together?
Warm soapy water and a soft brush, then dry fully - diamonds attract skin oil and go dull long before they are dirty. Skip ultrasonic cleaners entirely: they suit diamonds but not jade, and this piece has both. Full routine on our Jade Care Card, and for the gold, the Gold Care Card.
How to Style the Jade and Diamond Drops
The deepest green in the collection, so treat it as the colour of the outfit rather than an accent - black, ivory and camel all work behind it. Keep other jewellery to plain gold. Explore the full 14k and 18k Gold collection, see more Earrings, or visit JewelBuild™ to build a set around them.

Caring for Your Fine Gold Piece
14k and 18k gold is a precious metal investment. With proper care it holds its colour and quality indefinitely — fine gold does not tarnish, but it can scratch and dull without attention.
| Daily wear | Remove during heavy physical activity, cleaning, and gardening |
| Cleaning | Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap, soft brush — rinse and dry with a lint-free cloth |
| Storage | Store separately — gold scratches easily when touching other metals |
| Professional care | Annual professional polish recommended for fine pieces |
| Avoid | Chlorine, bleach, harsh chemicals, and ultrasonic cleaners for pieces with stones |
