Crystal Northern Star Coin Charm - Two-Tone Stainless Steel - 19x23mm
A Hammered Coin With a Star at Its Centre
The disc is not round. Its edge is faceted and slightly irregular, the way a hand-struck coin is, and the whole silver-tone face is worked with a molten hammered texture that never repeats. Across it, eight gold-tone rays radiate out from the middle - four long, four short - in the classic north-star arrangement.
Where they meet sits a large clear crystal, 5mm across, lifted well above the surface in a raised silver claw setting. This is the only stone in the batch that is properly held by metal rather than dropped flush, and you can see it: the crystal stands up off the coin like a real solitaire, with light getting underneath it from every angle.
At 19 x 23mm it is the largest charm in this release, and the one that most obviously works as a pendant in its own right.

The crystal is claw-set, which is more secure than a glue-set stone but also stands proud - it will catch on knitwear and scarves, so take the charm off before pulling a jumper over your head. 1. Is the stone a real diamond? No - it is a clear crystal. At 5mm it is the largest single stone we set on a charm.
2. How is it different from the Northern Star octagon? IHSMC049 is a flat mirrored octagon with a small flush stone and a plain engravable back. This one is a hammered coin with a large raised claw-set stone. Same motif, opposite finish - they look good bought as a pair.
3. Can I wear it as a necklace pendant? Yes. At 23mm it carries a chain on its own without looking undersized.
4. Is the back plain? Not blank - the star shows through as a raised silver relief. It is decorative rather than an engraving panel.
