A Gold Serpent Across Hammered Silver
A large oval plate in two-tone stainless steel, the face beaten into an irregular hammered texture in silver-tone with a gold snake coiled across it in a loose S. Small gold beads sit at the edges. It measures 17.2mm wide by 22.5mm tall and only 2mm thick, so it hangs flat rather than swinging.
At 1.9g it is lighter than it looks, which is what the thin plate buys. The reverse is the other half of the piece: mirror-polished plain silver, flat and unmarked, and a genuinely engravable surface.

1. Can the back be engraved?
Yes. The reverse is flat, blank, mirror-polished silver across the full 17.2 x 22.5mm, so there is room for initials, a date or a short word.
2. The back looks black in the photo - is it?
No, it is mirror-polished silver. A flat mirror finish photographs dark head-on because it reflects the shadow of whatever is above it, and pale from an angle. In the hand it is plain bright silver.
3. Are there any stones?
None. All metal.
4. It reacts slightly to a magnet - is that a problem?
No. Cast stainless steel normally contains a small amount of ferrite, deliberately, because it stops the metal cracking as it solidifies - that is what a magnet finds.
