JewelFreebies Spiral Pendant Material Set – UK Postage Only
Spiral Pendant Material Set – Two Necklaces, Two Metals, Worn Side by Side
Most people choose between zinc alloy and stainless steel from a spec line or a price tag. This set lets you choose by wearing them. You receive two spiral pendant necklaces: a zinc alloy spiral on a black faux leather cord, and a stainless steel spiral on a stainless steel chain, both 40cm with a 5cm extension. Put one on, live in it for a few days, then swap.
Part of JewelFreebies. This is one of the hands-on sets in the JewelFreebies range — small experience packages posted with free United Kingdom postage. Postage to Europe and the rest of the world is added at checkout.
Why the shape is the same
The two spirals share the same silhouette and measure the same in width and thickness, with just 0.2mm between their heights. That removes almost every variable except the metal, so what you notice between the two necklaces comes from the material. It is difficult to learn from a photograph or a spec sheet, and straightforward to learn by wearing it. The spiral is an ancient shape of growth; more on how materials behave sits on JewelLearn.

Try the sound test first
Hold each pendant by its edge and tap it against a hard surface. The stainless steel one rings; the zinc alloy one thuds. Once you have heard the difference you tend to recognise it in other pieces without thinking about it. The weight difference is 0.3g on paper, and noticeable once both are in your palm.
Looking after them
The zinc alloy pendant and its faux leather cord dislike water and will dull if they stay damp. Stainless steel handles water without trouble. Wearing one on dry days and the other through ordinary life is itself part of the comparison. Full guidance sits on JewelCare.
Questions
Is the postage really free?
Within the United Kingdom, yes — this set sits on the JewelFreebies postage rule alongside the other experience packages. Orders to Europe and the rest of the world have postage added at checkout, shown before you confirm.
Why two necklaces rather than one?
A single necklace tells you nothing on its own. The comparison is the point, and it only works when you can wear both. Each necklace is also sold separately: the faux leather cord and the stainless steel chain.
Which material should I choose?
Neither is better; they behave differently. Stainless steel suits daily wear and water. Zinc alloy takes fine detail and costs less, which is why it carries most of the MiniCharm range.
Can I wear them every day?
Yes. Both necklaces are made to be worn. Wear the zinc alloy necklace on dry days and the stainless steel one whenever you like, then swap and see which you reach for.
Is zinc alloy or stainless steel magnetic?
Zinc alloy is non-magnetic. Stainless steel depends on the grade: many grades used in jewellery are non-magnetic or only faintly magnetic, so a magnet is a hint rather than a verdict. Our guide to magnetic stainless steel jewellery explains the grades.
Will they age differently?
Yes, and that is worth watching. Zinc alloy tends to dull first. Stainless steel holds its finish. Wear both for a few weeks and the difference speaks for itself.
Is this suitable for sensitive skin?
Stainless steel is generally well tolerated. Zinc alloy is a base metal and a small number of people react to it. If you know you react to costume jewellery, wear the stainless steel one.
