Crystal Pave Moon Charm - Gold Stainless Steel - 14x18.8mm
A Slim Crescent, Pave-Set Along Its Whole Curve
The shape is a proper waxing crescent - fine at both tips, thickening through the middle, with the horns drawn out to sharp points. Along the outer curve run two continuous rows of small clear crystals, roughly thirty-six of them, set close together so the light travels along the arc instead of flashing from one spot.
Below the stones the metal is left completely plain: a wide band of polished gold-tone stainless steel with a slight inward curve, which is what gives the charm its solidity. The reverse is smooth and unbroken.
Of everything in this release, this is the piece that reads most expensive at a glance. Pave is a technique from fine jewellery, and doing it along a curve this narrow is not easy - it is the reason a plain crescent and this one look nothing alike on the wrist.

Choose Charm only to add it to a bracelet you already own. Charm + Clasp adds a small lobster clasp so it clips straight on - no pliers, no open links - and it works just as well on a bag, a zip pull, a keyring or a watch strap. Charm + Gold Chain or Charm + Silver Chain pairs it with our Gold or Silver Paperclip Chain Bracelet - fine-gauge stainless steel, adjustable from 16cm to 20cm. Bought as a set they cost 30% less than buying separately. Prefer to choose your own base? Build the whole stack at JewelBuild™.
Of all the moon's phases the waxing crescent is the one people chose to wear, and the reason is simple: it is the moon on its way up. A thin curve low in the evening sky means the light is returning, not leaving. Farming calendars from Mesopotamia to Japan set planting by it, and the word month in almost every European language comes straight from the word for moon - the first unit of time anyone agreed on was one full cycle of this shape growing and shrinking. Worn on the wrist it means the least fashionable and most useful thing there is: it is early, and there is more coming. A gift for her at the start of something. More motif meanings at JewelMotif™
Pave means a lot of very small stones sitting very close together, and every one of them is glue-set. Keep this charm out of showers, pools, hot tubs and ultrasonic cleaners without exception - it is the piece in this release most likely to lose a stone to repeated soaking. Do not use jewellery dip. A soft dry cloth, and a soft dry brush along the rows if they dull. Full guidance at our Stainless Steel Care Card and the JewelCare™ hub.
FAQs
1. Are the stones real diamonds? No - they are clear crystals, glue-set. Pave describes how they are arranged, not what they are.
2. Exactly how many stones are there? Around thirty-six across two rows. They are small enough that the count varies very slightly piece to piece.
3. Can the back be engraved? Only just. The reverse is smooth and unmarked, but it is a narrow curved crescent rather than a flat panel, so it will take two or three characters at most. For a proper engraving surface see the Northern Star octagon (IHSMC049), which has a completely blank polished back.
4. Will the gold tone wear off? The colour is plated onto stainless steel, which does not rust or turn skin green. Keep it dry and away from perfume.
5. How does it compare to the Gem Moon? IHSMC055 is smaller, plain and puffed with one central stone. This one is flatter, slimmer, and set all along the curve. Sparkle versus shape.
How to Style the Pave Moon
This is the charm to wear when you want the bracelet to look like it cost more than it did. Keep the rest of the stack plain - links, a smooth disc, one unset charm - and let the pave row be the only thing catching light. It also works worn alone on a fine chain at the throat. Hang it on a FortunaLink™ bracelet, browse the whole MiniCharm™ range, or start your stack at JewelBuild™. Every order arrives packed to give - see JewelGift™.
