A Small Oval, Heavier Than It Looks
An oval medallion in gold-tone stainless steel with a plain raised cross across the face, standing out of a finely stippled ground and held inside a smooth polished rim. It measures 10.6mm wide by 16.3mm tall - small enough to sit quietly among other charms.
At 2.25g it is dense for its size: 2.7mm thick and solid all the way through, so it hangs still rather than swinging. The reverse is plain polished gold with a few fine lines across the surface.

FAQs
1. Is anything set into it?
No. It is all metal - the cross is raised out of the same piece as the medallion.
2. Can the back be engraved?
The reverse is plain polished gold, but it carries fine lines across the surface and the oval is only 10.6mm wide, so there is very little usable area. We would not recommend it - the Hammered Disc (IHSMC086) is the piece for engraving.
3. Why is it heavy for its size?
It is 2.7mm thick and solid all the way through. That density is what stops it swinging about on a bracelet.
4. It reacts slightly to a magnet - is that a problem?
No. Cast stainless steel normally contains a small amount of ferrite, deliberately, because it stops the metal cracking as it solidifies - that is what a magnet finds.
