JewelSnap #013 · Chain guide
The paperclip chain: simple, strong and always in style.
Why the paperclip chain is so popular
It is easy to wear every day, and it goes with almost everything. The long, open links catch the light, and they leave room for charms to sit and move freely. That is the real reason people love it: it is a chain you can make your own.

A short history of the chain
The paperclip chain is named after the office paperclip, whose long oval shape it copies. Chains themselves are far older. Early chain bracelets were worn by royalty and warriors as signs of protection and status, and the metal said as much as the shape. Over the centuries the links grew finer and more personal, until the chain became a canvas that could carry charms and symbols telling one person's own story.
